Life leads us exactly to where we are supposed to be–eventually, in the future. And as Bikram would say, “Just trust the process”.

My journey started at a low point in my life. I was depressed, I lost my sense of self-worth, and the person I expected to be there had left me. I wanted to do something for myself, and that’s when I turned to Bikram Yoga. I did not fall in love with it immediately but I did love the bliss after each class. It gave me the peace of mind I needed, and I just felt happier and so much lighter, inside and out.

Back then, I was still working as a flight attendant in the Middle East. I started requesting for destinations with Bikram studios and spending my layover allowance on drop-in classes, mat and towel rentals. On off days, I listened to Bikram’s audio recording and practiced on my own. I became addicted to the practice.

In April 2015, using all my vacation days for that year (and hoping to use some more from my leave bank), I took a leap of faith and joined the BYTT. The plan was to teach during layovers and still continue flying. In the middle of my training, I was told by my airline that they could not give me the additional days I asked for. So, I did what I felt was the right thing to do–I left my job.

Since teaching my first class, I feel that a huge void has been filled and that I am doing exactly what I wanted to do all along. Bikram Yoga has opened a door of entirely new possibilities for me. Recently, I have received my Stott Pilates Mat Certification, and I look forward to continuously learn more, to help improve the quality of my life and that of others.
